David Rose, Jr., 69, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Duke Regional Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late David J. and Louisa T. Rose. He was of the Baptist faith and was a professional tree surgeon for forty-seven years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford by Rev. Ronnie Matthews. Burial will be in Stovall Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are his wife of forty-eight years, Nancy Ellis Rose of Oxford; a daughter, Shannon Rose Ramsey (David Lee) of Oxford, three sons, Brian Keith Ellis of Oxford, Pete H. Rose (Teresa) of Stovall, Kris N. Rose (DeDe) of Oxford; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Beatice “Sis” Fail of Selma, Elouise Knutson of California and a brother, Luther Rose of Zebulon. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elsie Lassiter and two brothers, Clint and James Rose.

Visitation will be held Saturday October 8, 2016 from 9:30 – 10:45 at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home of his daughter.
